About this deal

Possibly cathartic for Ross/Rylan to have written it is difficult to read at times but I don't doubt it was far harder to have lived through. He also revealed that his mum and big brother Jamie as well as his managers “arranged for me to go to a mental health hospital”. Ten is Rylan's memoir of the decade that changed his life and is ten years of him gracing our TV screens. Throughout the memoir Rylan gives us a warts and all account of his career in television, his divorce, the love he has for his family, especially mum Lynda and his favourite things. At the end of each chapter Rylan gives us his lessons learnt and throughout the book there are letters from some of his favourite people, family, friends and celebrities. His new memoir, Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, includes details about his marriage breakdown and split.

It was quite refreshing to read an autobiography that was so blunt and raw. Being diagnosed with GAD, I know how difficult it must have been to write such an honest book following his (fairly) recent breakdown. If you aren’t a fan of Rylan I’m taking a guess you’ll hate this. If you like him you’ll find it interesting Rylan, 33, previously opened up about his ill health last year following the breakdown of his marriage. Instead, the 33-year-old chose not to reveal the most painful details from his failed marriage, which left him battling with his mental health last year.Appearing on The One Show tonight, Rylan said: "It was really difficult writing what I had to write and revisiting a time that I never thought would be part of my life. I'm no big Reality show fan (though did watch the early Big Brother series') and most of my exposure to Rylan has been through Eurovision. I'd started a few books recently and just not been able to get into any, so this was an ideal easy Kindle Daily Deal read. Funny and outspoken, Rylan is one of the UK's most-loved presenters and a true household name. Rylan first emerged on our screens in September 2012 and in the ten years since then has become a one-of-a-kind national treasure.

He tried to come across as someone relatable and yet I couldn't fathom that whilst he talks about his and his mum's mansions. Yes, he's worked hard to be where he is now and I applaud him for that but once you're able to build your dream house and buy your mum a house, you have to realise that you lose some of that relatability to non-famous people. In his new book, Rylan Clark has recalled the moment his close friends Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford saw him when he was “badly ill”.I loved this. Audio version obviously. Made all the more special by Rylan’s mum Linda, Clare from steps, his sister in law, his friend and make up artist and his tv mum Ruth writing/reading their own little sections. When Rylan was first on The X Factor I thought he was attention seeking and annoying, but seeing the real side of him in recent years I have grown to like him, so was interested to read his side.

It became boring when he went on and on about his make up and his perfumes because, honestly, who cares? I doubt there are many men who use anywhere near the amount of make up he slaps on himself. Comic Relief star Rylan Clark once made a heartbreaking confession about being hospitalised twice following his marriage breakdown in 2021. He revealed in his book that he was ‘unfaithful’ to his ex, Dan Neal, which resulted in his mental health deteriorating.I knew it wasn’t right. It turned out that my heart had to be restarted. I remember laying in resus and I had all these pads on with all these wires and not understanding what it was,” he said. Friends stars ‘utterly devastated’ after Matthew Perry’s death as cast release heartbreaking joint statement What’s the point?’ I thought. I’d lost what I thought was everything, the one thing I always wanted. A man I loved. A family of my own. And now it was gone. This is Rylan as you've never seen him before - an intimate, fascinating and joyful insight into an extraordinary ten years on the telly and in our hearts. He has obviously gone through a hard time separating from his husband, although it sounds like he is better off without him in his life, and I hope he finds the happiness he deserves! The chapter on his breakdown was quite hard to read, so I it was definitely good to just do one chapter that was dark, then talk about happier parts. We got a bit of juicy gossip but not as much as I hoped, but I understand Rylan had a previous book where maybe he exposed more secrets of his time in the house? I can’t say from this I am keen to read part 2 of Rylan’s life , but it was an enjoyable enough light read (listen). So I tried to end it. I won’t go into detail as I don’t think it’s fair on my mum, but thank God I was unsuccessful.” I was also puzzled by a little comment on p.12 - Rylan claims he has never been a heavy drinker, despite spending a lot of book one and some of book two getting absolutely hammered. Unless he has a spectacularly weak tolerance for alcohol, this doesn't really make a lot of sense. With unforgettable stories about his rise to fame, his biggest regrets and his special bond with his beloved mum, TEN: The decade that changed my future is as warm and honest, enormously entertaining and full of surprises as its brilliant Sunday Times bestselling author.
